
Lee
Anderson was born 43 years ago in Christchurch, New Zealand. After
finishing his secondary school education he studied Electronics
and Telecommunications for 2 years before travelling to America
to obtain a Diploma in Professional Music from Berklee College
of Music in Boston.
Upon
returning from overseas he taught harmony and theory classes in
New Zealand before moving to Australia in 1984 where he freelanced
as a pianist in various bands before entering the New South Wales
Conservatorium of Music as a student in 1987.
Around
the same time he joined Australia's premiere bebop group "Now's
the Time" lead by Andrew Speight, Joe 'Bebop' Lane's Jazz
Cats and the Sydney All Stars Big Band which contained the cream
of Sydney's top musicians.
Since
then he has played in assorted Jazz groups, Funk groups, Big Bands
and Latin bands and has become a much sort after accompanist for
vocalists and performers.
More
recently he has branched into Web Site Design, creating and building
web sites for Worldmusic Corporation, Frank Bennett, Derek Williams,
Ralph Pyl, Groove Merchants and many others.
